Die Zirbe

St. Jakob – which together with the Oberhauser Zirbenwald, is the largest enclosed pine forest in the Eastern Alps to its territory – literally breathes a sneak in the Alpine healing climate.

 

Tauernblicke

To mark the 25th anniversary of the National Park, the new exhibition “Tauernblicke – Momente des Aunens” was opened. The interactive exhibition presents the different habitats of the protected area and makes you want to explore in the open.

 

Glocknerhaus Kals

200 years after the first ascent of the Grossglockner, the highest mountain in Austria, the Glocknerhaus in Kals was inaugurated in 2000. Witnesses from long ago tell of the first people who ventured over 4000 years ago into the most remote valleys of the Eastern Alps.

 

Museum Schloss Bruck

In his work "Das Land Tirol. A Handbook for Travellers", the Tyrolean topographer characterises Bruck Castle, a former residence of the Counts of Gorizia, as "worthy of a prince". The city of Lienz also seems to have perceived this in a similar way, after all, Bruck Castle has been in the city’s possession since 1942.
